Mail

Hello Everyone and welcome back to RinkMail! I know its been a while, but hopefully we can get back down to business on a regular basis.

One of the biggest issue that plagues fanatasy owners are trades, you’ll make some good ones and some bad ones myself included (In a keeper trade I gave up Hemsky, Cam Ward and Meszaros for Lupul, Bryzgalov and Kronwall sigh). So in this edition of RinkMail i have a bunch of questions on trades.

Heatley for Nash keeper league what do you think?

John.

John,

I know i might get some heat on this one but in a keeper league i might want nash, because Columbus should only get better from here if he re-signs, if he doesnt he could end up in a better situation than heatley. With that being said you can’t really go wrong with either player. But we know what heatley’s ceiling is, we may not yet know what Nash’s is.

Dear Rinkmail

10 team league, trading Tavares, Mccabe and Pomminville for Stamkos and Beauchemin. Is this a fari trade? should i do it?

Alex Onako

Alex,

Its not a bad trade by any means, your getting the best player in the deal which is Stamkos, McCabe is a slight upgrade on Beauchemin, but i am a Beauchemin supporter, and the Leafs are playing better hockey which should only bode well for him, Pomminville is filler and in a 10 team league you should be able to find an adequate replacement for him. So to sum it up, take it.

Should i trade Dustin Penner? With Hemsky out it seems like he could fizzle.

Eric

Eric,

I’ve never been all that high on Penner but he has had a good year and has kept it going reasonably well with new linemate Gilbert Brule. If you can sell high go for it, but dont throw him in a firesale, get good value (perhaps a deal for Nathan Horton could be in the works?)

Which Goalie should i trade in a non-keeper league Tim Thomas Steve Mason Chris Mason Roberto Luongo

Robert John James

Well i wouldn’t trade Luongo for starters unless someone offered me a blockbuster deal. If your trading the one based on the least use to you, that would be either Chris or Steve Mason. If you want to keep the best 3 keep Thomas, S. Mason and Luongo. If you want the best value you may be able to get someone to bite on Steve Mason for more in return than Chris Mason.

Well, that’s it for rink mail this right now. Thanks for reading and we’ll see you again with all your questions, which can be sent to FSGRinkMail@gmail.com

Ciao,

Steve
